The Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition plans to hire a small crew of high school students this summer.
The Youth Conservation Corps will provide employment opportunities for area students to gain conservation experience and knowledge.
Projects will include maintaining local trails, constructing rain gardens, improving riparian habitat, removing invasive species, mitigating soil erosion, and more.
The intern will assist with stream monitoring activities, lead community outreach programs, and serve as crew leader.
